Clutch is looking for a talented and hands-on Associate Creative Director (ACD), Art for a client of ours—a fast-paced healthcare marketing and advertising agency. We need a creative leader who can bridge high-level concept development with flawless execution, driving impactful, multichannel campaigns specifically tailored for the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Direction & Execution: Spearhead innovative design solutions from initial concept through final production across a wide range of digital, print, and interactive channels for pharma clients.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, inspire, and elevate junior and mid-level creative staff, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative, high-performing studio environment.
  • Regulatory Navigation: Ensure all creative work strictly adheres to pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance guidelines, including MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review processes, ISI (Important Safety Information) integration, and fair balance requirements.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with copywriters, account teams, strategists, and project managers to translate complex scientific and medical narratives into engaging, patient- and HCP-facing visual campaigns.
  • Client Presentations: Present creative concepts persuasively to internal leadership and external clients, effectively articulating the strategic rationale behind design decisions.
  • Pitch & New Business Support: Play an active role in new business development by contributing fresh visual ideas, designing pitch materials, and helping secure new accounts.
  • Hands-On Design: Roll up your sleeves to create key visual assets, master layouts, and design systems when projects require direct senior-level execution.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of design and art direction experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency environment.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing sophisticated brand development, digital innovation, and successful multichannel pharmaceutical campaigns (HCP and DTC).
  • Deep fluency in pharmaceutical regulatory standards, MLR workflows, and medical/scientific communication principles.
  • Mastery of industry-standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring creative team members while keeping projects on schedule and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and cross-functional partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
