Role: Senior Director, Medical Strategy (Contract) 

Location: Must be located in and authorized to work in the US.

Hybrid/On-site/Remote: Remote (EST hours)

Hourly Rate: Up to $80/hour

Clutch is looking for an experienced Senior Director, Medical Strategy on a full-time contract basis for a client of ours. In this role, you will provide critical medical and scientific direction, ensuring that all creative and strategic deliverables are deeply grounded in clinical data and medical insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medical strategy and scientific direction across assigned brands and client engagements.
  • Translate clinical data, disease-state information, and treatment landscapes into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with creative, account, and strategy teams to develop impactful HCP and patient communications.
  • Serve as a trusted medical/scientific advisor to clients and internal teams.
  • Review and guide medical accuracy, scientific integrity, and regulatory compliance of agency work.
  • Lead and mentor junior medical strategy/scientific team members.
  • Stay current on therapeutic areas, clinical developments, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific/clinical degree preferred (PharmD, MD, PhD, MS, or similar).
  • 7+ years of relevant experience within pharma advertising, medical communications, or healthcare agency environments.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and HCP communications.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to lead strategically while collaborating effectively with creative and cross-functional agency teams.
