Role: Freelance Ad Ops Specialist

Location: United States (Must be located in and authorized to work in the US)

Hybrid/On-site/Remote: Remote

Hourly Rate: $25-30/hour

Clutch is looking for an experienced Freelance Ad Ops Specialist for a client of ours.

Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Execution & QA: Traffic, set up, and launch digital media campaigns across major platforms with extreme precision. Conduct thorough pre-launch quality assurance testing on all creative components, destination URLs, tracking tags, and targeting rules.
  • Tracking & Measurement Deployment: Coordinate the implementation of tracking pixels, conversion parameters, and custom measurement scripts in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Documentation & Process Management: Build and maintain detailed trafficking sheets, deployment guides, and campaign architecture templates to standardize and streamline operational workflows. Organize vital media records including IOs, authorizations, and flowcharts.
  • Delivery Monitoring & Reconciliation: Actively track daily campaign delivery and pacing to identify under-delivery early. Support the financial reconciliation process by verifying media delivery data against established budgets and media plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with media buying, planning, account management, and analytics teams to ensure creative assets align perfectly with publisher specs and campaign timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep pace with changing ad formats, privacy regulations, tagging methodologies, and platform updates. Proactively offer operational solutions and share best practices to resolve technical hurdles.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience), combined with 2–4 years of hands-on experience in digital campaign trafficking and ad operations at an AD agency.
  • Platform Expertise: Proven proficiency navigating key ad tech environments, such as Google Campaign Manager 360, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, or LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Preferred Tools: Prior experience utilizing Mediaocean, Basis, or similar enterprise ad operations software is a major plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ad-serving ecosystems, UTM tagging logic, container tags, and conversion tracking mechanisms.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the analytical capacity to troubleshoot tracking or delivery anomalies. Excellent project management skills with the agility to shift priorities under tight deadlines.
